Tutorial: Produce the Presentation

Use Present’s Production Wizard to quickly turn clips and Storyboards into AVI or WMV files. The Production Wizard allows you to produce an individual clip or Storyboard, or batch produce multiple clips and Storyboards.

In this lesson we will cover:

Choose File > Preview Highlight Video to see and hear how your highlight video will playback before you go through the production process.

Produce Video Clips

  1. Click the Produce Highlight Video button from the title bar or choose File > Produce Highlight Video. The Production Wizard appears and leads you through the four-step production process.
  2. Select one or more Storyboards to produce as WMV or AVI videos.
  3. Click Next to continue. The Video Encoding Options dialog box appears.
  4. Select a compression option:
    • Lossless Video (produces an AVI file) — Provides the highest quality video, but may increase the size of your recording file, especially if the video contains areas with a lot of motion, such as Picture in Picture (PIP).
    • Custom (produces an AVI file) — Allows you to completely customize your production configuration.
    • Full Motion Video (produces a WMV file) — Provides a good compromise between file size and video quality.
  5. Click Next. The Video Size dialog box appears.
  6. Set the size of the produced highlight video. We recommend using the default setting, Largest video size. Click Next to continue. The Product Video dialog box appears.
  7. In the Produce Video dialog box, enter the destination folder name and file name for the video and choose the post-production options.
  8. Click Finish. The rendering begins immediately. Rendering assembles all of the audio and video data into one video file based on the sequence on the Storyboard.
  9. When the rendering finishes, the Production Results dialog box appears. Click Play to view the video.

If you produce the highlight video as an .avi file using the default TSCC codec, choosing File > Pack and Show in Manager allows you to package your video for easy one-step distribution to your users. Pack and Show creates a Windows-executable (.exe) file that contains your produced highlight video (AVI only), the TSCC codec and the Morae Player. The person receiving the .exe from you can double-click on it to unpack the file, install the TSCC codec and the Morae Player, and play the video.
