With TechSmith's ExpressShow (SWF) output, you can customize the table of contents to include a title and image, choose where to display the table of contents within the video, and change the dimensions to fit the width of the TOC entries.

Customize the Table of Contents in an ExpressShow Video

With TechSmith’s ExpressShow (SWF or FLV) output, you can customize the table of contents to include a title and image, choose where to display the table of contents within the video, and change the dimensions to fit the width of the TOC entries. To access the options to customize the table of contents in your ExpressShow production:

1. Choose the Produce video as option in the Task List.
   
2. The Production Wizard appears. Choose the Custom production settings option and click Next.
   
3. Choose the SWF/FLV option and click Next.
4. On the Flash Templates screen, choose ExpressShow with TOC from the Template dropdown list.
   
5. Click the Flash Options button.
6. The Flash Options dialog box appears. Choose the Table of Contents tab.

Add a Title to the Table of Contents

On the Table of Contents tab in the Flash Options dialog box, enter text into the Title field to appear at the top of the Table of Contents.

Select the Table Contents Alignment

On the Table of Contents tab in the Flash Options dialog box, you can choose from the following Table of Contents alignment options:

• Fixed-Left:
  
• Fixed-Right:
  
• Floating: Viewers can move the TOC within the video window and show/hide the TOC by clicking the TOC icon in the player control bar.
  

Add an Image to the Table of Contents

Click the Browse button to select an image file (.bmp, .gif, .jpg, or .png) to display at the top of the table of content under the title.

Change the Width of the Table of Contents

You can customize the width of the table of contents to fit the title, image, and table of contents entries. The default width of the table of contents is 160 pixels. Long TOC entries and titles or wide images may be cut off. To change the default width of the table of contents:

• On the Flash Templates screen in the Production Wizard, click the Change Dimensions button.
• The Video Dimensions-Preview appears. Choose Custom and enter a new width into the TOC width field. The new width is adjusted in the preview.
  
• Click OK.
