Customize the HTML Template for ExpressShow Productions

This tutorial covers how to change the HTML ExpressShow template for single output, non-SCORM productions. Click the link below to download six new HTML templates for your ExpressShow productions. The following HTML templates are available in the zip file:

The downloadable HTML templates are designed for use with small videos up to 800 x 600 pixels. Larger videos may extend beyond the dimensions of the background image and will not produce the same visual effect.

Change the HTML template for ExpressShow Productions:

1. Download the HTML templates from the link above. The folder contains six new HTML templates for ExpressShow and a backup copy of the default HTML templates.
2. Choose C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 5\Media\Studio\HTML\ExpressShow. This folder contains the default HTML templates for ExpressShow included with the Camtasia Studio 5.0 or 5.1 installation.
3. Delete the “basic” folder.

   Make sure you create a backup copy of the basic HTML template. The zip file also contains a copy of the default HTML templates for ExpressShow.

   
4. Copy the desired basic template from the zip folder (ex. basic_dotted).
5. Paste the selected folder (ex. basic_dotted) into the following location: C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 5\Media\Studio\HTML\ExpressShow.
   
6. Rename the pasted folder to “basic”.
   
   
   When you produce an SWF video using an ExpressShow template and enable the Embed Video into HTML option, the video is wrapped in the new basic HTML template.

Changing the HTML for the basic ExpressShow template changes the appearance for all future ExpressShow productions.
